Public Interest Law Gathering
Published by the LRC 24 July 2017
For its seventh year, the annual Public Interest Law Gathering was held at the Law Faculty of the University of the Western Cape from the 24-26 July 2017. This was a public event.
Every year, PILG brings together public interest legal practitioners and organisations, law students, paralegals, social movement leaders and legal academics with the aim of serving as a focal point to share and develop knowledge. We intend to facilitate greater collaboration within human rights and public interest litigation oriented organisations and to increase the skills of persons working in such organisations.
Participating organisations for 2017 PILG included Centre for Applied Legal Studies, Equal Education Law Centre, Centre for Environmental Rights, SECTION27, Wits School of Law, Lawyers for Human Rights, the Legal Resources Centre, Probono.org, Socio-Economic Rights Institute, Students for Law and Social Justice, Southern Africa Litigation Centre and Women's Legal Centre.
